Finally getting back to in, rebuilt the action I had taken apart years ago. The second octave E wasn’t speaking and I found a small speck of dust in the reed. (last frame). You can see the note names inscribed into each reed. The swell pedal works and you have to pump fairly quickly to get the notes to speak faster. This was made in New York by the Prince Co. around 1846. This has quite the mood to it. Something Sigur Ros or Radiohead might use to create soundscape textures. Primarily the Sennheiser MKH40 in the cabinet as a spaced card pattern. Then the C700s as a stereo pattern at the rear of the piano. The room was loud and noisy so not sure how much help the front arrays will be. Have been lusting after a pair of Sennheiser MKH40 Have been lusting after a pair of Sennheiser MKH40 or 30’s for years. One of the flattest microphones made, but since Sennheiser discontinued them they’ve been harder to find. I came across this pair of MKH40 on @reverb from a retailer in the UK. They arrived today and ecstatic that they are as the photos displayed; pristine. RIP Rupert Neve An innovator and business owner w RIP Rupert Neve An innovator and business owner whose analog audio equipment designs have become an essential component in music recording, live sound production and home hi-fi systems, died on February 12, 2021 in Wimberley, Texas, due to non-Covid pneumonia and heart failure. He was 94. Mr. Rupert Neve’s impact on the audio industry can hardly be overstated. It’s no exaggeration to say that millions of people worldwide listen to music every day that was produced using equipment incorporating Rupert’s designs somewhere in the process, from the vocal recording to the final mix, if not from beginning to end. (That was the first sign of trouble). When I saw the footage of Cancer survivor Ryan Anthony, I knew instantly I wanted to do this. It is a fitting tribute to his resiliency and that of health care workers around the globe. It has been a crazy last four days with about 60hrs of work and little sleep but here it is. Thanks to Jens for having a robust speed dial. ‘ A Hope for the Future’ was written as a tribute to the true frontline heroes around the globe, health care specialists dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic! Inspired by the great Ryan Anthony, over 30 of the world’s most celebrated trumpet players filmed and recorded themselves in isolation on a new song written by Matt Catingub. Representing 14 different countries, classical soloists, jazz artists, educators, and even pop stars from the Dave Matthews Band and Chicago, ‘A Hope for the Future’ is dedicated to all those around the world who care for us.
